Shaky Dog Racing Wins the 35th Running of the Tire Rack One Lap of America Presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) May 23, 2018 -- Christopher and Tina Lewis, in their 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, have won the 2018 Tire Lap of America Presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine. Competing against 85 other teams including factory backed efforts and professional drivers, their combination of consistent driving, a well prepared car and a dose of good luck resulted in the Shaky Dog Racing Corvette putting an end to the Nissan GTR reign, which has lasted nearly a decade.
The victory was an especially poignant and meaningful one for Christopher and Tina. Prior to becoming a husband and wife team, Christopher had run the event with his cousin, colleague, friend and racing partner Mike Hedin. In their first running in 2012, the pair won the One Lap sportsmanship award for their willingness to help every team they encountered. After Mike passed away the One Lap sportsmanship award was posthumously named for him. “Being able to not only continue Mike’s legacy, but take the top podium spot in the event that meant so much to him is something that will stay with us forever.” Said Christopher Lewis.
For the overall victory the team took home two B.R.M Chronographes, two B.R.M Manufacture designed trophies, an ODYSSEY® Battery and the status as One Lap Champions.
Christopher and Tina will be able to rotate the B.R.M Manufacture trophies through their list of companies, First Maintenance Company, Midwest Maintenance, Unlimited Maintenance, Heartland Sweepers and RL Management.
The One Lap of America congratulates Christopher and Tina on their victory and would like to thank all our sponsors and partners who made this years event possible:
Tire Rack, Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, B.R.M Chronographes, ODYSSEY® Battery, KIA Motors, Track Guide, National Speedway Directory, G-Force Racing Gear, and DEI.
