Cosmetic Executive Women Awards Excellence in Sustainability to NaturaBrasil
NEW YORK (PRWEB) May 29, 2018 -- NaturaBrasil was named winner of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Beauty Insider’s Excellence in Sustainability Award. It recognizes a beauty brand that seeks to reduce its environmental impact and has moved further toward the goal of sustainability in multiple facets of its business.
The criteria for this award are based upon the four science-based sustainability principles promoted by the international network of non-profits, The Natural Step. Candidates must demonstrate measurable changes that have been implemented within the past three years.
- How a brand helps to reduce the use of fossil fuels and mined materials
- How a brand reduces introduction of non-biodegradable materials to the environment
- How a brand helps to reduce the loss or damage to natural resources
- How a brand demonstrates consideration for people's needs and rights, in the company, supply chain, and the communities in which it operates
“Natura strongly believes in the transformational power of the beauty industry, with the use of technology and network innovation to develop solutions that promote environmental and social change. We encourage people to turn enterprise into an opportunity to create positive impact within four sectors: economic, social, environmental, and cultural," says Roger Schmid, Global Sustainability Advisor at NaturaBrasil.
The company operates on a value system that the world is interconnected, and that business can be a force for good. This ethos is reinforced by third party accolades including the United Nations Champions of The Earth Award and Natura’s status as a B (Benefit)- Corporation. To date, Natura has saved nearly 635,000 acres of Amazon rainforest – the company remains dedicated to sustainability, community development and an inclusive vision of beauty.
CEW hosted the 24th Annual CEW Beauty Awards Luncheon on May 18, 2018, a significant event recognizing the year’s most innovative beauty products and companies. Held in partnership with the New York Times, the event drew more than 1,200 industry insiders to the New York Hilton Midtown, where winners were named across 44 categories. Alicia Quarles, Correspondent, Daily Mail TV, served as Master of Ceremonies. “As innovation in the beauty space grows, so does the abundance of products for consumers to choose from. Now, more than ever, the CEW seal of approval helps consumers navigate the beauty space to make their purchase decisions,” said Carlotta Jacobson, President of CEW. Winners are listed on CEWAwardWinners.com throughout the year with shoppable links.
