LaCorte News announced today that John Moody, the former head of news at Fox News Channel, has joined the company as Editor in Chief. He will be responsible for all original content on its news platform.

Moody is the former Executive Editor and Executive Vice President of Fox News, where he assembled and managed hundreds of correspondents, editors, and producers around the world. He was responsible for the channel’s news gathering and reporting on television and all Fox News platforms. He left the network in April.

“John Moody is one of the most accomplished and respected journalists I’ve ever known,” said LCN founder Ken LaCorte. “I’m lucky to be working with him again.”

About LaCorte News

LCN is a news startup based in the San Francisco area that will launch this summer, combining a unique news delivery platform with human editors and reporters. It's an app/mobile/desktop suite of products delivering both original news and video with hundreds of daily curated stories from around the internet.

“Journalism has lost its way. From hyper-partisanship to clickbait, do you really trust the headlines anymore?” said Moody. “Reporters have too often become advocates and the media is going off the rails. We’ve found a way to help fix that."

The company was founded by Ken LaCorte, who ran all editorial at FoxNews.com from 2006 to 2016. He served as a senior executive at Fox News for 18 years, including as Director of News Editorial and as Western Bureau Chief.

The company has drawn heavily from former Fox News talent, including two former executive editors of FoxNews.com, Jeff Misenti, FNC's former Chief Digital Officer and former FoxNews.com editor Drew Lynch, who serves as Managing Editor.

“Roger Ailes built an outstanding senior team and many of them have been purged,” said LaCorte. “I am taking full advantage of that.”
