Greenberg Traurig’s Leslie Katz to Speak at Blockchain Technology and Token Offerings Seminar
SILICON VALLEY, Calif. (PRWEB) May 25, 2018 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Leslie R. Katz will speak at the “Blockchain Technology and Token Offerings: Back to the Future” seminar, May 31-June 1 in Palo Alto, CA. Hosted by The Seminar Group, the event will explore the legal, structural, and operational issues surrounding the use of public token offerings.
On May 31, Katz will participate as a panelist in a session titled, “Other Regulatory Regimes.” The panelists will discuss KYC, OFAC, and AML requirements; FinCEN Registration; and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s role in public token sales. The panelists will also address state laws related to public token offerings as well as the risk capital test.
The two-day seminar gathers accountants, attorneys, bankers, financial planners, and investors for a comprehensive discussion of token sales, including current U.S. securities laws, the business implications for cryptocurrency, and blockchain-related investment. Katz, a shareholder in the firm’s San Francisco office, focuses on government law and policy, including energy, telecommunications, healthcare, emerging technology, blockchain, land use, infrastructure, development, and public-private partnerships. Her ability to provide strategic counsel, for startups to Fortune 500 companies and public entities, comes from her diverse experience in the public and private sectors. Katz is also very involved in the local Bay Area community and was recently recognized among the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times.
A former member of the Board of Supervisors for the City and County of San Francisco, Katz served as chair and/or vice chair of numerous committees, drafting and helping pass significant legislation related to technology, the environment, economic development, labor, and human rights. She was also elected to the San Francisco Community College Board of Trustees and has served on the Port Commission of San Francisco.
