District Administration Names 22 Schools of TechXcellence - Innovative Districts Nationwide Honored in Annual Award Program
TRUMBULL, Conn. (PRWEB) June 01, 2018 -- District Administration magazine is honoring 22 schools and districts for education technology initiatives as part of the Schools of TechXcellence program. This is the second year of this national recognition program.
TechXcellence was created by District Administration magazine, and sponsored by HP and Intel, to recognize schools that have implemented innovative, effective and replicable technology programs that contribute meaningfully to student or operational success. The June 2018 honorees were selected by the program’s judges from numerous nominations, and reflect programs that demonstrate effective and replicable success.
The 22 schools and districts honored in this round of TechXcellence—from 13 states—have programs that incorporate technology powered by Intel, including laptops, tablets and 3D printers.
For example, students in McHenry School District 15 in Illinois use fully stocked makerspaces to engage in hands-on, STEM-related learning and career preparation. Students at River Dell Regional High School in Oradell, New Jersey, participate in a course of study focused on becoming cybersecurity professionals. And at Pine Grove Area High School in Pennsylvania, students create 360-degree virtual reality content including videos and animation.
“What these stories tell us is that students are excited to use the latest devices and applications as part of their education, which is fueled by the vision and drive of teachers, principals and district leaders,” says JD Solomon, editorial director at District Administration magazine. “We hope our readers are inspired by the integration of technology demonstrated by these honorees to launch similar initiatives in their own schools.”
