IBEW Local 136—First Open Enrollment with Cornerstone Benefits Management

Cornerstone Benefits Management is currently administering the first open enrollment for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 136 which allows active Union members the opportunity to enroll in a variety of voluntary income protection benefits.

Cornerstone Benefits Management, a company that provides comprehensive and affordable group insurance plans to Union members, announced the first open enrollment period for new voluntary member benefits offered by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 136., based out of Birmingham, AL. Members have the opportunity to enroll in Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Life Insurance. Active members of IBEW Local 136 are guaranteed approved without having to fill out medical questionnaires or take a physical; members currently in poor health or with previous health issues cannot be declined coverage.

During the open enrollment, members receive information through mail, emails, texts, and Facebook & website announcements. Cornerstone makes enrollment easy for members by providing options to enroll over the phone, through the mail, or online. “Member education of these voluntary benefit plans is a big priority at Cornerstone. About IBEW Local 136: Was chartered in 1912 with just 20 members. While located in Birmingham, AL IBEW Local 136 represent electricians employed by more than 70 contractors performing construction and maintenance work throughout Central Alabama. The local also represent the employees of a manufacturing plant in Leeds, Alabama building high voltage switches, the employees of three Rural Electrical Cooperatives delivering power to homes and businesses, and the electricians working in the maintenance crew for a large pipe manufacturer in Bessemer, Alabama.
