June is Safety Awareness Month, a time to honor our police and firemen who keep us safe. In honor of this month and first responders, Hidden Doors by Design, LLC™, which creates hidden door bookcases for safe and panic rooms to also keep people safe, has pledged to donate $100 for every June order to the Police and Firemen’s Fund sponsored by Broomfield Rotary.

“Our first responders risk their lives every day to help keep us safe. I hope other companies will join us in thanking them for their sacrifices during Safety Awareness Month,” said Peggy Reed, owner of Hidden Doors by Design, which creates award-winning hidden door bookcases.

The Police and Firemen’s Fund helps with uncovered medical bills or expenses when first responders are injured or sickened as a result of their employment. These are generally costs outside insurance or workers’ compensation so they are out-of-pocket expenses. Examples include police officers injured who cannot return to work and need a disability settlement, which can take several months to resolve; or firefighters who need out-of-state treatment for cancer that was likely caused by exposure to toxins.

Hidden Doors by Design’s commercial grade magnetic locking system and concealed level 3 ArmorCore security panel are popular options for panic room hidden door bookcases. Its hidden doors are also used to keep guns and safes out-of-site. An internal steel structure, which weighs about 115 pounds, was designed by a structural engineer for added strength and rigidity. Since their hidden doors operate on a pivot system, there’s no need for tracks, hinges or rollers. When closed, their hidden door bookcases are flush with the wall completely concealing the doorways.

Hidden Doors by Design, LLC™ won Best of Show at the 2014 Denver Home Show and Hot New Product at the 2011 Colorado Garden and Home Show. Hidden door bookcases are available as in-swing or out-swing models, and in various sizes, woods and trims.
