Astria Learning and The Copperbelt University (CBU) have signed an MOU

The main purpose of this collaboration is to:
• Enable the Copperbelt University to expand its revenue base through growth in distance learning student numbers within the framework of remodeling income generation.
• Deliver a world class set of distance learning programmes both through a blend of face to face delivery on one hand and one hundred percent online delivery on the other.
Areas of collaboration
• Development of an E-Learning platform for open, distance and full-time academic programmes;
• Capacity development in the teaching and non - teaching staff on how to provide world class teaching and learning support using e-learning technologies;
• Provide support to the Copperbelt University in building capacity for E-marketing of both its academic and non-structured programmes which are available on the E¬ Learning Platform.
About CBU
The Copperbelt University is a public university of choice established through an Act of Parliament No. 19 of 1987. Based 15km away from the Central Business District of the City of Kitwe, in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia, the Main Campus of the University is located in the suburban area, within reach of the shopping and recreational facilities. The University currently operates from four campuses: Jambo Drive Main Campus, Parklands Campus, Ndola Campus and Kapasa Makasa Campus.
With a student population of about 10,000 students, the University provides teaching and learning, Research and Consultancy, and Public Service. These are done through its 10 faculties namely School of Mines and Mineral Sciences, School of Engineering, School of the Built Environment, School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, School of Business, School of Natural Resources, School of Medicine, School of Graduate Studies, Directorate of Distance Education and Open Learning, and Dag Hammarskjöld Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies.
