UNCF 3rd Annual Ft. Wayne Mayor’s Breakfast Raises Funding for Deserving Students and Historically Black Colleges and Universities
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (PRWEB) June 07, 2018 -- Join UNCF Fort Wayne Leadership Council at the 3rd annual Fort Wayne Mayor’s Breakfast on June 14, 2018 at Ivy Tech Community College, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Hosted by Mayor Thomas C. Henry, more than 100 community influencers, education leaders and supporters of UNCF will gather to raise funding for the next generation of leaders to get to and through college.
“It’s critical to invest in the lives of our future leaders. We must recognize that education is vital to provide individuals with hope and opportunities to grow and succeed,” said Mayor Henry. “I’m appreciative of all of the work that’s taking place in Fort Wayne to assist students as we work together to move our community and region forward in a positive direction with momentum and excitement.”
Since 2007, UNCF’s Fort Wayne Leadership Council has been committed to changing the lives of deserving Fort Wayne and Allen County students through education. Awarding more than 75 scholarships and raising more than $250,000 in funding to help students obtain a college degree, the council’s commitment remains steadfast.
“Helping local students develop their full potential and gain access to the benefits of a college education so they can build meaningful careers and contribute to their communities is the focus of our leadership council’s efforts,” said Brad Stiles, UNCF Fort Wayne Leadership Council chair.
Events such as the Fort Wayne Mayor’s Breakfast are necessary in building thriving communities and are made possible through the support from corporate and community giving. This year’s breakfast sponsors include presenting sponsor, City of Fort Wayne, gold sponsors; Parkview Hospital and Ivy Tech Community College Foundation and over ten table host.
