Operation Homefront Receives Prestigious 2018 GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency
SAN ANTONIO (PRWEB) May 31, 2018 -- Operation Homefront, the national nonprofit that helps to build strong, stable, and secure military families, is pleased to announce they have received the 2018 Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information. GuideStar allows nonprofits to share their complete story to the public, including metrics on the progress the organizations are making toward their missions.
“On behalf of all involved in this outcomes-based organization, I want to say how honored we are to have received GuideStar’s highest level of recognition, their prestigious Platinum Seal of Transparency,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., president and CEO of Operation Homefront. “It reflects our collective unwavering commitment to be open to those corporate, foundation and individual donors who support our vital work, as well as to those military families we seek to help thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.”
To achieve the Platinum Seal of Transparency, GuideStar requires nonprofits to disclose extensive information, including: in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies, and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward its mission. By providing this level of detail, Operation Homefront has demonstrated its commitment to transparency and to providing donors and supporters meaningful data to evaluate the organization’s effectiveness and impact.
Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront provides military and veteran families with relief through Critical Financial Assistance and transitional housing programs, resiliency through permanent housing and caregiver support services, and recurring family support programs and services throughout the year that help military families overcome the short-term bumps in the road so they don’t become long-term chronic problems.
As 92 percent of Operation Homefront’s expenditures go directly to program delivery and services, the organization is consistently recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity oversight groups. Earlier this year, Operation Homefront received its 11th consecutive four-star rating from Charity Navigator. Operation Homefront has received an “A” rating from CharityWatch and met all 20 Accountability Standards of the Better Business Bureau.
