Top Floor was honored at 2018 BMA Awards for local manufacturing company's career website that was built to help attract candidates and motivate employees during Wisconsin's worker shortage.

Top Floor an innovative team of developers, designers and digital marketers based in New Berlin, Wisconsin, took home two awards at the 2018 BMA (Business Marketing Association) Milwaukee Bell Awards. Top Floor was honored in the Microsite category with a BMA Excellence Award for Grover Experience – a careers extension of Grover Corporation’s main website.

Grover Corporation is a manufacturer of hydraulic seals and a global leader in piston ring manufacturing. Like many local manufacturing companies, Grover Corp was struggling to find workers in the midst of Wisconsin’s worker shortage. Grover Corporation partnered with Top Floor to develop a website that would attract skilled talent.

Top Floor fulfilled this objective by delivering an intelligently designed microsite that attracts Wisconsin workers in the manufacturing industry to Grover Corporation. The website was built with two main objectives: attract and excite potential candidates and motivate and inspire current employees. The website featured four main sections - Community, Veterans, Testimonials and Benefits - that boast the advantages of working at Grover Corporation while conveying a company standard that attracts top-level talent.

“It's no secret that the job seeking process is now mainly an online experience for most candidates,” says Sarah Kloth, director of digital strategy. “Companies are attracting job seekers directly to their websites, using channels we would have never expected like Facebook and Instagram. If your website isn’t built to bring qualified candidates to your door, you are missing out on one of the most important recruiting tools of attracting the younger generations.”

Top Floor is no amateur when it comes to marketing in the manufacturing industry. Before starting Top Floor, founder Jim Bernthal was Wisconsin’s regional director for Thomas Register of American Manufacturers for over 20 years. “Working with Wisconsin’s manufactures for the past 40 years, I feel a connection to the industry to extend our expertise where we can help during this growing crisis,” says Bernthal. “Our team has a way to develop career focused websites that act as a recruiting engine and better talent pipeline. Currently we have a handful of careers website in the pipeline and are estimating that number to continue to grow throughout the year.”
