Consumer Reports (CR), the nonprofit membership organization, today announced Michael Hubner as its General Counsel. Hubner is responsible for overseeing CR’s legal, regulatory, and governance responsibilities, which include organizational policies, partnership agreements, and contracts.

Hubner comes to CR with more than two decades of experience as chief legal counsel for a variety of media and communications companies. Most recently, he served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of ION Media Networks, where he oversaw corporate financial transactions, business contracts and litigation, as well as regulatory matters for the network’s broadcast stations. Previously, he served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Glowpoint, Inc. and FiberNet Telecom Group. He has a Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law.
