Dr. Engler joined Acta and B&C as Senior Chemist in January 2015 after nearly two decades at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics (OPPT) and has offered his extensive understanding of the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and other regulatory frameworks to assist clients as they develop and commercialize novel chemistries.
As Director of Chemistry, Dr. Engler will continue applying his significant scientific skill in resolving complex or difficult regulatory challenges while ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency across the expanding and unrivaled team of experienced regulatory chemists at B&C and Acta. Dr. Engler holds a Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and taught classes in organic chemistry there and at the University of San Diego prior to joining EPA as Senior Staff Scientist at OPPT. Dr. Engler is one of the most widely recognized experts in the field of green chemistry and was leader of EPA’s Green Chemistry Program.
