San Jose State's New Softball Field is Latest in Partnership with AstroTurf
SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) June 07, 2018 -- The San Jose State University Spartans softball team spent almost two years playing their home games away from home. Now, the softball team returned back on campus and at home in May 2018 with the opening of the Spartan Softball Field, which features a synthetic turf field by AstroTurf, the inventor of artificial turf and a well-known innovator in the industry.
The Spartan Softball Field represents a continuation of San Jose State’s partnership with AstroTurf. This is the second playing surface AstroTurf has completed at the Mountain West conference member school. The first was inside the 30,456-seat CEFCU Football Stadium.
Both fields were designed by California’s Sports Surfacing Design firm, Verde Design and AstroTurf partner/distributor Valley Precision Grading installed the surface.
As the softball team moves into the future, players will field balls and lace base hits on a synthetic field that plays like the real thing.
All of the outfield, the warning track and foul territory are covered in the RootZone Diamond Blend artificial grass.
