TMSA Logistics Marketing & Sales Conference Demonstrates Importance of Sales, Marketing Alignment
CAPE CORAL, Fla. (PRWEB) June 11, 2018 -- The 2018 Transportation Marketing & Sales Association’s Logistics Marketing & Sales Conference got underway today with a riveting presentation by Jeff Davis, founder of The Sales and Marketing Alignment Summit and The Alignment Podcast. Davis spoke about strategies and frameworks that leaders can use to determine the best ways to move forward with transforming sales and marketing into a highly functioning and aligned revenue engine focused on driving growth.
“Oftentimes, organizations work in silos and there’s not much collaboration amongst the two teams that rely on each other’s work – the sales and marketing departments,” said Brian Everett, CEO of TMSA. “Jeff witnessed it firsthand when he worked in sales and marketing for various tech and healthcare companies for more than 20 years, which ultimately drove him to find a solution that will help businesses grow.” Given this year’s conference theme is “Align for Growth,” this keynote was particularly timely.
According to Everett, one of the goals of the conference is to better position sales and marketing to address a number of issues facing the transportation and logistics industries, such as the driver shortage and the capacity crunch. “Sales and marketing disciplines are frequently tied directly to revenue generation but are untapped in addressing other macro issues, such as the driver shortage or capacity volatility,” Everett said. “TMSA is helping our members to directly address such issues in order to have an even stronger impact on the performance and success of their companies.”
The conference runs through June 12 and features sessions led by some of the leading marketing and sales executives within the transportation and logistics industry, including James Santy, vice president of network sales for C.H. Robinson, Adrian Gonzalez of Talking Logistics, and Craig Fuller, CEO of FreightWaves. With more than 200 business leaders in attendance, participants will have the opportunity to network and learn how other companies are evolving with the ever-changing market.
Topics are relevant for both marketing and sales professionals with all types of companies, including motor carriers, third-party logistics companies, railroads, ocean carriers, port authorities, technology innovators, and original equipment manufacturers.
The event is taking place at the Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village in Cape Coral, Florida. A virtual conference highlighting key sessions from the conference will be available on-demand shortly. For more information, please visit: http://www.tmsatoday.org.
