Wayback Burgers Celebrating First Day of Summer (June 21) with Free Shake Day
CHESHIRE, Conn. For the 10th straight year, we’re proclaiming the first day of summer (June 21) as #FreeShakeDay. All participating restaurants will give away one FREE 12 ounce Black & White Milkshake per guest all day Thursday, June 21, 2018, while supplies last.
While any day is a good day for a hand-dipped-to-order milkshake, there’s something about the words “first day of summer” that gets the blood flowing. The Black & White Milkshake, crafted with Blue Bunny® ice cream, Hershey’s™ chocolate syrup, and milk, is the perfect delight to combat mother nature’s oppressive heat.
Wayback Burgers’ President John Eucalitto is eager to help shake things up for the first day of summer with the refreshing promotion.
“Summer has the ability to conjure up remembrance of the ‘good old days’ and we proudly welcome its arrival by celebrating Free Shake Day with our loyal guests,” says Eucalitto. “Wayback Burgers is all about promoting moments of nostalgia for families and friends over great burgers, fries and milkshakes. All participating Wayback Burgers restaurants are gearing up for Free Shake Day by loading up on supplies. 3,400 gallons of ice cream, 300 gallons of Hershey’s™ chocolate syrup, 300 gallons of Monin French Vanilla Syrup and 30,000 cups, lids and straws, to be exact — 30 times the required supply for an average day of milkshake sales. This ramp up is necessary as the average restaurant will give out more than 280 free milkshakes on Free Shake Day.
Patrick Conlin, Wayback Burgers’ Senior Vice President, is anticipating large crowds and an abundance of smiles when Free Shake Day rolls around.
“Free Shake Day has always been a day Wayback Burgers looks forward to because it’s a day filled with nothing but good vibrations,” says Conlin. “We expect a 20–25 percent sales jump at all of our restaurants as hundreds of guests fill our restaurants to pair their free Black & White Milkshake with our fresh, cooked-to-order burgers and fries”
All Wayback Burgers’ milkshakes are made the old-fashioned way, hand-dipped to order. Its classic Black & White Milkshake is made with premium vanilla ice cream, milk and a blend of vanilla and Hershey’s™ chocolate syrup.
