Advanced Security Package provides greater breadth of security to businesses of all sizes

Wind River Financial, a payment processing company based in Madison, WI, recently partnered with Chicago-based information security company, Trustwave, to launch the Advanced Security Package (ASP). This new product is designed to help companies improve their overall security posture by adding additional layers to data security defenses while also streamlining Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance processes.

“We see too many companies with a ‘finish line’ approach when it comes to data security and PCI compliance, but compliance is too small of a goal,” said Wind River President and CEO Mike Carow. “We created ASP to help our clients take a ‘security first’ mindset which is about keeping data safe.”

The Identity Theft Resource Center’s 2017 Annual Data Breach Year-End Review indicates data breaches were up 45 percent in 2017 with a total of 1,579 breaches. Of those incidents, the business sector topped the list with 55 percent of total breaches, followed by the healthcare sector at 24 percent. Statistics show that no matter what size a business is, it is at risk for a security breach. That’s why ASP is designed specifically for organizations with limited IT resources, so they can focus on their mission.

Healthcare providers’ mission is to care for patients and the systems are geared toward patient care. Due to the extensive personal and financial information health systems hold, they especially benefit from implementing an extra layer of security to keep patient data safe. ASP helps provide a greater breadth of security capabilities than a single security vendor by packaging multiple tools into one solution to keep data protected across both payment and non-payment related environments.

According to a recent survey by Trustwave of over 1,000 IT professionals, there are four key areas that keep them up at night: identifying vulnerabilities, preventing malware and malicious activity, strengthening access security, and improving reporting. ASP addresses those four areas by providing 13 different tools to enhance data security capabilities. These tools include external vulnerability scans, remote access and mobile device security, credit card data scanner, web malware monitoring, antivirus, security policy generator and more to keep organizations safe and secure on multiple devices.

ASP can easily be downloaded to any workstation to help simplify compliance and provide a unified dashboard for monitoring. Packaging the tools into one convenient program makes it easy for clients to use and saves money compared to going out and buying the tools individually.
