Falk Marques Group Announces a Major Expansion of its Private Equity Conference Portfolio
LEXINGTON, Mass. (PRWEB) June 14, 2018 -- Falk Marques Group LLC, producer of the Women’s Private Equity Summit and Women’s Alternative Investment Summit, and publisher of Women’s PE Briefs, has made two significant announcements that solidify the firm’s reputation as the dominant provider of conferences and content for women in private equity, venture capital, and other alternatives. For the 12th annual Women’s Private Equity Summit in March 2019, Falk Marques Group will relocate its flagship conference from The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, CA to the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA to accommodate the Summit’s extraordinary growth. Beth Falk, founder and president of Falk Marques Group, said moving the industry’s largest and most respected conference to southern California is well timed. “In 2017 Los Angeles surpassed New York as the top destination for institutional capital, according to research from CBRE,” notes Falk.
In September of 2019 Falk Marques Group will launch the Women’s Leadership Unbound Summit, to be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, the ideal venue for this smaller retreat. The company’s third conference is a two-day hands-on Summit for senior-level GPs and LPs in private equity — women who are already in leadership positions and those who are poised to lead. Women’s Leadership Unbound tackles the skills and strategies critical to leadership in private equity, providing an actionable roadmap — tools, information, close connections, and smart next steps — to enhance their value to their organizations and break through to the highest levels.
Beth Falk says her firm’s organic growth is the result of not only the continued rise of women in the former “boys club” fields of private equity and venture capital but also the continued challenges women face in breaking through to the highest levels of power. “When we launched the Women’s Private Equity Summit in 2008, women were just starting to make headway in the field. We hosted 248 women at the first conference; at our 2018 conference, we welcomed 575 attendees,” Falk notes. Now, with the Women’s Private Equity Summit moving to Dana Point and Leadership Unbound launching in Half Moon Bay, “the Women’s Private Equity Summit will have a foot in both the Bay Area and SoCal — where the action is for private equity and venture capital,” concludes Falk.
While women have made great strides in private equity and venture capital, their representation at the very top of the firm or organization has been limited. Women make up less than 18% of the private equity industry, with only 9% of those women holding senior executive roles. The challenges women face in advancing to top leadership positions is the impetus for launching the Women’s Leadership Unbound Summit, says Falk. “Rising to the highest level in private equity and venture capital means having the authority to make decisions and control the money. Falk Marques Group created Women’s Leadership Unbound to help women gain that authority and control.”
With the expansion of the Women’s Private Equity Summit and the addition of Women’s Leadership Unbound, Falk Marques Group continues to fulfill its mission of helping women advance in private equity, venture capital, and other alternatives. “The women who attend our Summits and read our weekly E-newsletter Women’s PE Briefs are the change-makers who help women succeed,” says Falk. “Our mission is to be the company that helps to make change happen.”
