Unchained Labs Discusses How to Improve Biologics Stability Screening in Educational Webinar
YORBA LINDA, Calif. (PRWEB) June 13, 2018 -- Many methods for studying protein stability and aggregation are qualitative, which can cause uncertainty when moving drug candidates and formulations forward. In contrast, Hunky gives the Gibbs free energy (ΔG) of a protein, which is a powerful and quantitative indicator of the amount of unfolded protein present in a sample at ambient temperatures. Moreover, inherent in the ΔG values is information about the likelihood and pathway of aggregation of the protein.
Through this educational webinar, which is sponsored by Unchained Labs, participants will see how ΔG provides quantitative information on protein stability compared to other stability measurements. They will also learn how ΔG can give insights into protein aggregation.
The speaker for this event will be Dr. Lisa Adamiak, an Applications Scientist at Unchained Labs. She is responsible for supporting new product development for protein analytical tools by carrying out proof-of-concept studies. She received her doctorate in chemistry from UC San Diego, where she synthesized and characterized biological nanomaterials for diagnostic applications.
Dr. Adamiak will discuss the benefits of making routine ΔG measurements with Hunky as part of the process of developing biologics and optimizing formulations. This quantitative data can be used in conjunction with orthogonal and more traditional thermal stress measurements like Tm to reduce risk when developing biologics.
LabRoots will host the webinar June 28, 2018, beginning at 9 a.m. PDT, noon EDT. To learn more about this event or to register for free, click here.
