ThreatAdvice Enhances Cybersecurity Learning Management System with Gamification Application Built On Blockchain
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (PRWEB) June 13, 2018 -- ThreatAdvice, a provider of cybersecurity education, awareness and threat intelligence, is offering members an added incentive to login and complete company-required cybersecurity education training. The company is launching a rewards platform built on blockchain to complement its existing cybersecurity trivia application NxtQ and its NxtQ Marketplace.
Through the enhanced gamification of the ThreatAdvice system, utilizing blockchain technology, members will receive rewards and unlock badges for specific behaviors such as logging into the ThreatAdvice system once a day, completing that semester’s assigned coursework or successfully passing a phishing test. The more rewards a user earns the more chance he or she has to cash in those points for ERC 20 tokens. A user then has an opportunity to spend this cryptocurrency in the NxtQ marketplace on special items and gift cards.
ThreatAdvice chief technology officer Will Blackburn said, “ThreatAdvice is experimenting with how we can harness the capabilities of blockchain to provide our users with a better overall experience with the ThreatAdvice cybersecurity education system. “Blockchain is disruptive, innovative and secure and we felt it was the best option for developing our new technology,” he said.
Blackburn cited an example that if a ThreatAdvice member has 10,000 coins to spend in the NxtQ Marketplace, there will be 10,000 ERC20 tokens on a blockchain directly linked to what is happening within ThreatAdvice.
According to ThreatAdvice CEO David Brasfield, theoretically in the future, ThreatAdvice members could withdraw coins earned through engaging with the ThreatAdvice system and deposit them in their own cryptocurrency wallet.
“With our NxtQ trivia app and the addition of blockchain-based gamification and cryptocurrency rewards, ThreatAdvice hopes to help make it easier for companies to get employees to engage in cybersecurity training increasing to overall cyber health of our member companies,” Brasfield said.
Brasfield also stated that ThreatAdvice was currently self-funding this rewards system and there would be no additional price increase for current ThreatAdvice member companies.
