Historic B Bar H Ranch California Establishes Modern-day Identity
B BAR H RANCH, Calif. (PRWEB) June 15, 2018 -- B Bar H Ranch California has become a desert jewel tucked away in tranquil desert surroundings with dark starry nights and sunny swim-filled days.
The old dude ranch located in Southern California was established on April 7, 1927 by two men, Bender and Hubbard, who made the B Bar H Ranch a celebrity getaway because of its location about eight miles north of Palm Springs in the Seven Palms Valley.
Providing activities for celebrities to learn how to ride horses and participate in gymkhana events made the Ranch a perfect vacation spot just a few hours from Hollywood. Celebrities would vacation at the Ranch, or in Palm Springs and take advantage of the nearby natural hot springs which later in 1941 became "The Spa City" of Desert Hot Springs. Some of the famous people from the Golden Age of Hollywood who stayed at the Ranch included: Bob Hope, Ray Milland, Bing Crosby, Tyrone Power, Joan Crawford, Lionel Barrymore, Irene Dunne, Eleanor Powell, Olivia de Havilland, Joan Fontaine, Gary Cooper, Marlene Dietrich, and Robert Taylor.
Fast-forwarding to today. The Ranch today is comprised of an eclectic mixture of architecture dating back to the 1930's and 40's to mid-century style homes built in 2005-2007. Its residents are a creative group of individuals who are retired or work from home as artists and entrepreneurs, work in the service industry or in nearby surrounding areas. They stay connected through social media sites like Facebook and Nextdoor.
"The B Bar H Ranch is near and dear to me," said 11-year resident Anna Miller, "I moved into the Ranch on April 7, 2007 exactly 80 years to the day the Ranch was established. Now, establishing our identity as B Bar H Ranch, California, I believe we are making Mr. Bender and Mr. Hubbard proud." Miller with the help and support of other B Bar H Ranch residents have worked closely with Riverside County to maintain the integrity of the community and address key issues to improve the area. Letters are planned to go out to all residents about the estabished identity. Miller currently serves on the B Bar H Ranch Community Association alongside Walter Gaines and Dawn Jordon Groves.
