2019 Global Seafood Sustainability Conference to be Held in Bangkok
PORTLAND, Maine (PRWEB) June 18, 2018 -- Diversified Communications and SeaWeb announced today that the 15th edition of the SeaWeb Seafood Summit, the world’s premier conference on seafood sustainability, will take place June 10-14, 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. The annual Summit brings together global representatives from the seafood industry, retail, foodservice, government, the conservation community and the media. Every edition moves to a different location to effectively spotlight international issues and give voice to diverse perspectives. This latest move marks the second time the SeaWeb Seafood Summit has ever been hosted in Asia; the first time since 2012 (Hong Kong).
“We are taking the Summit and the critical conversation of sustainability to seafood’s biggest market; Asia,” said Liz Plizga, Group Vice President for Diversified Communications. “Having the Summit in Bangkok gives access to more stakeholders, opportunity to a continent that’s ripe for sustainability and the perfect stage—one of Asia’s most prominent marketplaces—to advance solutions.”
Since 2002, SeaWeb Seafood Summit has connected global stakeholders of sustainable seafood and given them a forum for productive in-person dialogue, partnerships and solutions. The 2018 event, taking place this week in Barcelona (June 18-22), will gather hundreds of stakeholders in sustainable seafood to address and discuss critical issues on topics ranging from traceability and transparency to business and management, aquaculture and IUU.
“Starting the conference with next year’s location in mind will help generate further conversations around global issues for an even more successful gathering in Thailand,” added Plizga.
Online registration for the 2019 edition of the SeaWeb Seafood Summit in Bangkok, Thailand will open in the fall of 2018 at seafoodsummit.org. However, attendees and professionals interested in the next edition can learn more and receive event information as it becomes available, here.
