Tommy Savitt Leads Club Improv Comedy Competition
PHOENIX (PRWEB) June 19, 2018 -- On June 11, 2018, Club Improv announced an online, nationwide Comedy Competition that hopes to discover new and emerging comedy talent. The competition runs until midnight September 12th. The leader at the end of this first week is Tommy Savitt. His stand-up act is available to view here, and is rated PG-13: http://www.ClubImprov.com.
Comedians always enter for free and they each get a chance at the $1,000 first prize. The first 100 contestants also get a $15 Amazon gift card for entering at http://www.ClubImprov.com. If the contestant already has a YouTube or Vimeo video of their stand-up routine, it takes less than 10 minutes to enter. They just need to provide a link to their video, and how to get in touch with them if they win. The final winner will be the comedian who secured the most votes.
To vote, viewers just go to the site and click VOTE. Each viewer gets 3 votes total. If you know of someone who would like to participate, they can enter the contest from the home page: http://www.ClubImprov.com.
The company will be adding more categories going forward, such as a Senior Comedian Competition, Best Improv Competitions on various topics, a Comedy Cartoonist Competition, a Comedy Writing Competition, and even a few other entertaining competitions like a Pet Comedy Competition. Each challenge will remain the same - the contestant uploads his or her entry and then uses social media and friends to secure the most votes.
"We were worried that we'd get a lot of raunchy material posted that we'd have to reject, but that hasn't been the case at all," said Joe DiDonato, one of the Angel Investors. Joe went on to add, "Tommy Savitt is typical of the level of quality that we're seeing. Hopefully many of the contestants will get picked up by speaker bureaus, or even booked directly, which is the goal of our contests."
The entire Club Improv team that put the site together is hoping that it’s an overwhelming success, and that they might look back one day and be able to say that they helped launched the career of some of the best comedy stars on the planet. But they also said that they are going to be relentless in their efforts to make this first contest a huge success.
