Adolfson & Peterson Construction Celebrates the Grand Opening of WatchGuard Video’s New Corporate Office
ALLEN, Texas (PRWEB) June 22, 2018 -- Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), along with WatchGuard Video Founder and CEO Robert Vanman, Dallas-Fort Worth law enforcement, city of Allen officials, WatchGuard employees and other friends and colleagues came together Monday, June 18 for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of WatchGuard Video’s new corporate headquarters in Allen, TX. AP recently completed construction of the new headquarters for WatchGuard Video, located at 415 E. Exchange Parkway.
The ceremony kicked-off with a self-guided tour of the building followed by a private discussion with former president George W. Bush in WatchGuard’s Training Room. Moderated by Mr. Vanman, President Bush addressed previously submitted questions from event attendees, where he spoke of his mother, former first lady Barbara Bush, provided advice and encouragement to law enforcement officials, and described the events that unfolded on September 11th. Following the discussion, a ribbon cutting ceremony offered speeches from former Dallas police chief, David Brown, and city of Allen Mayor, Steve Terrell, and concluded with Mr. Vanman thanking all who were involved in the planning, design and construction of his company’s new headquarters.
The ceremonious event concluded with additional tours of the entire building, dinner and music. WatchGuard Video, a provider of law enforcement video systems, supplies in-car video systems and body-worn cameras along with evidence management software to approximately one-third of all law enforcement agencies in the United States and Canada.
The 140,000 square foot, two-story office project was designed by GFF and has the capacity to accommodate approximately 500 employees and all departments (engineering, sales, technical services, customer support, marketing, accounting and manufacturing operations.) AP finished out the entire office building which includes a state-of-the-art engineering laboratory with a large anechoic chamber room, a full environmental test chamber for accelerated life testing, 24 electrical test benches and a fully equipped prototype shop. The sophisticated manufacturing facility is located on the first floor where WatchGuard Video’s in-car and body cameras are assembled. The building also includes a large training facility, vehicle installation garage with an officer’s lounge, customer demonstration room, a separate engineering wing, and many employee amenities including a cafeteria with a catering kitchen, outdoor employee green space, a large recreation room, fitness center, an indoor racquetball court, and an in-house medical clinic for employees.
The building is the first in a two-phase plan to accommodate WatchGuard’s rapid growth. “We had originally forecasted the need for the second phase sometime within the next three to four years, however, exceptional growth in our business and market share may bring groundbreaking on the next phase in sooner than planned,” said Vanman. A second phase build would add an estimated 70,000 square feet to the campus.
“We are honored to be present for this ceremonious event and I am proud of the strong commitment from our team to deliver a state-of-the-art facility,” said Corbett Nichter, Regional President with AP. “Working closely with WatchGuard Video and GFF to see this project come to life has been a great privilege, and we are excited for what it brings to the city of Allen.”
Construction began in April 2017 and was delivered on time and within budget.
