Kibler & Kirch-designed Stapleton Gallery in Billings Montana Recognized by Mountain Living Magazine for Local Artists and Historic Architecture
BILLINGS, Mont. (PRWEB) June 21, 2018 -- In restoring the abandoned but dignified 1904 Stapleton Building in the heart of downtown Billings, Montana, as a home for his second-floor design studio, Jeremiah Young, owner and creative director of venerable Western interior design firm Kibler & Kirch, began to envision a “sister business” – and in the summer of 2016 joined forces with co-curator Abigail Hornick-Minckler to launch Stapleton Gallery, featuring a roster of remarkable local talent. Mountain Living magazine recognizes the unique space conceived as a world-class art gallery in its May/June 2018 “Artful Living” issue with “Bold Vision in Big Sky Country,” detailing the duo’s mission to “nurture and celebrate authentic Montana artistry.”
“There are more working artists per capita in Montana than in any other state,” the article quotes Young as saying, and Kibler & Kirch has been helping people to collect, commission and display art for years. So Young turned his talent for seeing the potential of spaces to transforming a former central airshaft in the historical building into an inviting long corridor of a gallery with restored period details – ideal for exhibiting Montana artists in a thoughtful space for artful gatherings.
The Stapleton Gallery’s group of emerging and established artists work in a wide range of media that includes photographer Audrey Hall’s stunning Western landscapes and Ona Magaro’s glass sculptures, as well as paintings from Kevin Red Star and equine bronzes by Stephanie Revennaugh. Stapleton Gallery-represented Montana artists also featured in the article include Chris Boyer, Ben Pease, Richard Parrish, Jennifer Eli French, Judd Thompson, Tyrel Johnson, Jennifer Li, Dominique Paulus and Erika Haight.
Described in the article for his “gift for orchestrating artists,” Young is passionate about curating exhibits for the hundreds of locals who attend and appreciate the themes and creativity that go into the events.
The Billings interior design studio of Young’s Kibler & Kirch shares its second-floor location with Stapleton Gallery, allowing clients and vendors to meet for creative brainstorming. In addition to its downtown Stapleton Building presence, Kibler & Kirch also maintains its original studio and storefront in Red Lodge, Montana.
Mountain Living also recently recognized Kibler & Kirch as a top designer in the Rocky Mountain West and has profiled Jeremiah Young as a Renaissance man of the West. In addition to curating Stapleton Gallery installations and creating inspiring interior spaces for his clients’ homes and businesses, Young also recently took on the role of creative director for Old Hickory Furniture Company.
