Advantia Health Acquires Virginia’s Fairfax OBGYN Associates
ARLINGTON, Va. (PRWEB) June 27, 2018 -- Advantia Health, a leader in the health technology and women’s health sectors, has acquired the Fairfax OBGYN Associates, Inc practice and its Virginia offices located in Fairfax, Gainesville, Woodbridge and Dulles. The acquisition of Fairfax OBGYN Associates further cements Advantia’s dominant position as the market leader in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Region.
The Advantia management team is thrilled to welcome practice leaders Dr. Leonard A. Rosen and Dr. George Iskander into Advantia Health. Dr. Rosen was recently recognized by the Surgical Review Corporation as a Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery. Dr. Rosen has been in private practice in the Northern Virginia area since 1980. He was Co-Director of the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital and Director of Robotic Surgery.
Dr. George Iskander provides gynecologic and obstetric care with a focus on prevention and wellness. While he treats all gynecologic conditions, his clinical specialties include uterine fibroids and bleeding, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic-assisted and laparoscopic hysterectomy. Dr. Iskander completed his two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Dr. Iskander is an accomplished surgeon who also performs many minimally invasive surgeries and robotic-assisted procedures. He has a passion for single-site robotics, which allows him to complete many surgical procedures without leaving a scar.
Dr. Rosen and Dr. Iskander bring advanced and sophisticated surgical expertise to the OB/GYN field in Virginia. Dr. Rosen has built an exceptional practice in gynecological as well as aesthetic surgeries and procedures and is certified under a number of professional boards.
“Our roster of talented and accomplished surgeons continues to expand to meet the modern needs of today’s women,” explains Sean Glass, CEO and Co-founder of Advantia Health. “We provide a comprehensive slate of services that are both convenient and affordable. Advantia’s Woman’s Health Hub model is leading innovation by adding primary care and behavioral health to modern OB/GYN practices.”
Advantia also plans to expand the services at its new practices to include mental health and wellness and expanded in-office testing and diagnostics. All patients will have access to easier online booking, telemedicine, and more robust care coordination.
The acquisition of the four offices adds five physicians, and five midwives to the Advantia team in Virginia and strengthens Advantia’s leadership in women’s health across the Mid-Atlantic Region. In Virginia alone, Advantia now has a total of 11 physicians and 11 mid-level providers located in Stafford, Fredericksburg, Fairfax, Gainesville, Woodbridge, and Dulles. With these expansions, Advantia Health now comprises 98 total providers serving more than 150,000 women and their families across Maryland and Virginia.
“At Advantia, we’re staying on the cutting edge of both technology and innovative care models,” says Dr. Peter Glass, Chief Medical Officer and Co-founder of Advantia Health. “The healthcare environment may be changing fast, but our priority is building on the trusted relationship that a woman shares with her OB/GYN. To that end, it is critical that all of our offices retain the health-provider culture—and patient advantages—of independent private practices.”
