Making its third appearance on the list, Destination Wealth Management has been named to the Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers, representing a cohort of elite RIA firms.

Destination Wealth Management is pleased to announce that it has been named to the 2018 edition of the Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers. The list recognizes top independent RIA firms from across the U.S.

This marks the third time that the Walnut Creek, California-based firm has appeared on the prestigious list, having received the same honor in both 2014 and 2016.

“I’m appreciative that the firm has been recognized by FT 300. This is a publication I greatly respect,” Michael Yoshikami, CEO of DWM has stated in response to this announcement.

Altogether, this is the fifth annual FT 300 list*, produced independently by the Financial Times in collaboration with Ignites Research, a subsidiary of FT that provides business intelligence on the asset management industry.

RIA firms applied for consideration, having met a minimum set of criteria. Applicants were then graded on six factors: assets under management (AUM); AUM growth rate; years in existence; advanced industry credentials of the firm’s advisers; online accessibility; and compliance records. There are no fees or other considerations required of RIAs that apply for the FT 300.

The final FT 300 represents a cohort of elite RIA firms, as the average practice in this year’s list has been in existence for over 22 years and manages $4 billion in assets. The FT 300 Top RIAs hail from 38 states and Washington, D.C.

The FT 300 is one in the series of rankings of top advisers by the Financial Times, including the FT 401 (DC retirement plan advisers) and the FT 400 (broker-dealer advisers).

Destination Wealth Management was included in the Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers list for 2018. Over 760 firms were considered for inclusion in the Financial Times 300 (FT 300) list. To be considered RIA s must meet the following minimum criteria: manage at least $300 million in assets under management as of 12/31/17; no more than 75% of its practice’s assets be institutional; and the RIA must be independent.

The FT 300 ranking is conducted independently by the Financial Times, in partnership with Ignites Research, a subsidiary of the Financial Times that conducts research and analysis on the asset management industry. DWM did not pay a fee to apply or be listed in the FT 300 report.

The Financial Times generates an internal score for each applicant based on six broad factors (AUM, AUM Growth Rate, Years of Experience, Compliance Record, Industry Certifications, and Online Accessibility). AUM comprises approximately 65% to 70% of each advisor’s score. Ranking on this list is not representative of any one client’s experience and is not indicative of DWM’s future performance. No organizational memberships were required of DWM or related individuals. DWM is not aware of any facts that would call into question the validity of the ranking or the appropriateness of advertising inclusion in this list.
