HRA, a regional senior living development and operating company based in Vero Beach, is introducing a leading-edge “Farm to Table” program to each of its senior living communities.

Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), a regional senior living development and operating company based in Vero Beach, is introducing a leading-edge “Farm to Table” program to each of its senior living communities. Through this new initiative, individual HRA communities will partner with local farms for fresh produce. In addition to this program, each community culinary team has created summer seasonal menus featuring farm fresh vegetables and salads daily. HRA has 30 communities in 7 states and is partnering on the construction of 7 more communities in 7 additional states.

Recently, HRA executive directors received training on making farm fresh salads for residents. The “Farm to Fork” initiative was created as a result of that training. As part of HRA’s award-winning hospitality program, “Farm to Fork” will set new standards for community culinary teams.

“Through ‘Farm to Fork,’ we will work with local farms to bring in locally sourced fruits and vegetables,” said Gottfried Ernst, Vice President of Hospitality at HRA. “This will allow our Chefs and culinary teams to create and develop exciting menus, incorporating local produce and ingredients. We believe our residents and guests are going to love having increased healthy and seasonal choices.”
