Healthy Interactions Expands Its Chronic Condition Coverage with the Launch of Programs for People Dealing with Depression and Diabetes & CVD

“Our mission statement: To improve the lives of people with diabetes and other chronic conditions, every decision, investment, acquisition, and effort has been in the service of that single-minded goal. Launching both the Depression and the Diabetes & CVD programs advances us in this journey”

Healthy Interactions programs have improved the lives of over 35 million people with chronic conditions. Given the high correlation of both CVD and depression with type 2 diabetes, the two new programs further expand Healthy Interactions’ proven population health management solution.

“Ever since day one, when we wrote our mission statement: To improve the lives of people with diabetes and other chronic conditions, every decision, investment, acquisition, and effort has been in the service of that single-minded goal. Launching both the Depression and the Diabetes & CVD programs advances us in this journey,” stated Paul Lasiuk, CEO of Healthy Interactions.

Since launching its first program for Diabetes Self-Management Education & Support (DSMES) 13 years ago, Healthy Interactions' portfolio of programs has grown to include: Insulin Initiation, Mealtime Insulin, Managing Diabetes During Ramadan, Diabetes and CVD, Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), Type 1 Diabetes, Hypertension, COPD, CHF, Asthma, Parkinson’s, Depression, Weight Management, Nutrition Counseling, Tobacco Cessation, and Falls Prevention.

Fifty-seven independent clinical and behavioral studies and publications have been produced validating the efficacy of Healthy Interactions’ programs. Additionally, client data has been resoundingly strong, including:

  • NPS of 95 for the DSMES program and an average of 82 for all programs
  • A1c reduction of -1.71
  • Diabetes Rx compliance of 77%
  • Statin compliance of 85%
  • Program completion rate of 66%
  • And, significant improvement in key quality metrics

Healthy Interactions’ unique model of integrating high-tech with high-touch is the optimal modality of engaging people with chronic conditions and leads to improved outcomes and lower costs. Healthy Interactions’ patient-centric, high-tech platform (the MyHealthMap™ platform) links with 93 devices (i.e., weigh scales, blood glucose monitors and blood pressure monitors) and connects patients with licensed healthcare professionals for ongoing support.

The high-touch solution is enabled by Healthy Interactions’ nationwide-network of over 10,000 licensed healthcare professional educators. These educators are available in all 50 states for on-site delivery and can be deployed to health systems and employer locations. The majority of this network consists of nurses and dietitians, and 27% of them are Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs).
