Sarah Chung has been quietly revolutionizing the international beauty business with her B2B beauty platform, Landing International. The largest full-service platform focusing on connecting beauty retailers with emerging international beauty brands, Landing International gives indie brands from around the globe the opportunity to break into the US market, a $445 billion industry in 2017.

As the behind-the-scenes curator of Korean Beauty (K-Beauty) assortments at national retailers like ULTA, Urban Outfitters, Revolve and Nordstrom, Chung utilizes her experience to overcome the challenges that international brands have traditionally faced when navigating the vast U.S. market.

Buyers looking for new brands as a way to make their stores stand out in a crowded market look to Chung to recommend up-and-coming brands. “The beauty consumer is now a global customer thanks to product discovery on social media. It’s clear that the consumer has more desire than ever to try new and innovative brands from around the world,” says Chung. Channeling the shopper’s desire, Chung harnesses her connections to create a retail match.

In beta for the past year, Landing International is preparing to unveil their online marketplace for a full launch later this fall. “Brands will be able to use our platform to connect with retailers, seamlessly process orders and enter new doors without the struggles of language barriers and integrating with complicated retailer EDI systems,” says Chung. “Our platform integrates all of that into one central nervous system that’s easy and efficient for brands to understand and manage.”

As for what’s next for Chung and Landing International, the larger international market is in her sights. “Our technology offers a service that any consumer industry can profit from. We’re expanding into international beauty to satisfy the growing desires of the consumer, but we also have our eye on the baby and wellness categories.”
