Mole Street & Mole Street Artists Celebrate Record-Breaking Turnout at 2018 Molestice Festival
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) June 28, 2018 -- The almost four-decade-old block party turned mini–music festival Molestice touched down again on the 100 block of Philadelphia’s North Mole Street.
Mole Street, also the name of the digital and experiential marketing agency behind the event, announced that the festival drew over 2,500 people, a 25 percent attendance increase from 2017, and a 65 percent increase from 2016.
“It’s a tremendous feeling to see the continued growth of this annual festival and cultural gathering,” said Brendan Walsh, principal at Mole Street. “Our goal for the next three to five years is to grow Molestice into a citywide celebration. We want to see Molestice become what Jazz Fest is to New Orleans—taking over the city with a celebration of music, culture and camaraderie.”
Added Brian LaPann, principal at Mole Street and a Molestice performer in 2018: “We acquired a stellar music lineup this year by booking some of our favorite performers from our Mole Street Artists roster, such as The Sermon!, nationally touring Philadelphia-based acts like Mutlu and Worldtown, and of course our headliner Nicole Atkins. This year, I was grateful to celebrate Mole Street’s 4th year organizing the festival and was fortunate enough to get on stage to mark the debut of my own album, Living in Grace.”
In celebration of the summer solstice, the free festival—held annually on quirky Mole Street stretching from the deep south all the way to North Philly—featured eight artists and food and drinks by local staples such as Dogfishead, Poi Dog and Grilly Cheese, among many others.
This year’s Molestice was brought to life by Mole Street’s valued partners and sponsors, including Capital One, Red Bull, Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, Go Fox, J. Werner Production, Fergie’s Pub, OPS Security Group and Philip Gabriel Photography.
