Cavalry Court, a Valencia Hotel, Recognized Internationally at the Hospitality Design Awards for Lifestyle Public Space
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (PRWEB) June 27, 2018 -- Cavalry Court in Century Square announced that it has been named a Finalist in the 14th Annual Hospitality Design Awards for Lifestyle Public Space. Hospitality Design magazine’s annual HD Awards honor the industry’s best projects and products, and the creative teams behind them, across multiple categories throughout the world. Winners and finalists were honored at a ceremony in early June in New York and were highlighted in the June issue of Hospitality Design. Nearly 700 submissions were submitted across 23 categories, including Luxury and Upscale Hotels and new categories including Restoration and Wellness.
Cavalry Court was a Finalist in the Lifestyle Public Space category along with PUBLIC, New York; The Warehouse Hotel, Robertson Quay, Singapore; 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, New York; Freehand, New York; and The Line DC, Washington, DC. The Valencia Group commissioned the interior design firm of Rottet Studio in Houston, Texas to design the overall look of Cavalry Court. Rottet Studio is an international architecture and design firm with an extensive portfolio of corporate and hospitality projects for the world’s leading companies and brands. In the last decade, Founder Lauren Rottet, FAIA, FIIDA has developed Rottet Studio into one of the finest interior design practices in the United States, which is consistently ranked among the corporate and hospitality Top 100 Design Giants by Interior Design magazine and was recently recognized as one of the Top 3 Most Admired Design Firms in the World. Due to their superior work, Rottet Studio submitted their work on Cavalry Court for the Hospitality Design Awards and was recognized as a Finalist! Cavalry Court is located in Century Square across from the Texas A&M's campus in College Station, Texas. The hotel was the first hotel in the area to offer upscale guest rooms and amenities that all tie back to the culture of Texas A&M. The entire site plan was designed to close out the outside world to create a peaceful and unique experience. The pool cabanas were designed to reflect military tents and each has their own television which could be the perfect place for tailgating on game day. The pavilion is an open area beneath a large architectural structure designed to resemble a landscape of hundreds of tents on the battlefield and it is a place for gathering to eat, dance or listen to live music. Overall, this hotel is a place for people to congregate, tailgate, eat, swim, roast s'mores over an open flame, listen to live music and relax. It is a cultural gift to the city and a tribute to the local community today and for the future generations.
Lauren Rottet, Founding Principal and President of Rottet Studio is one of the most celebrated interior architects in the world today with an extraordinary record of awards, publications, lectures, juries and honors. Ms. Rottet is the only woman in history to be elevated to Fellow status by both the American Institute of Architects and International Interior Design Association. “Our team has set the standard for innovation and creativity on our work on Cavalry Court,” said Lauren. “This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators and we are truly honored.”
Rottet Studio attended the 14th annual HD Awards ceremony in New York at Cipriani 25 Broadway on the evening of June 6th where they accepted their award in honor of their work on Cavalry Court. This is worth applauding in a community like College Station, Texas where accolades like this assist in telling the outside world that we are a destination that everyone should visit!
