The Scepter Mobile Computer, from AML, is now offered in a more compact style without a pistol-grip handle

This continued evolution of the Scepter validates it own success, as well as the need for truly rugged Android mobile computers in the industrial marketplace.

AML, a leading manufacturer of barcode-centric mobile computers and kiosks, has introduced the newest version of their flagship product, the Scepter Enterprise Mobile Computer. The Scepter is now available without a pistol-grip handle, resulting in a sleeker, lighter form factor. The Android-based wireless mobile computer was specifically designed for rugged environments with a wide range of features to help deliver the performance and reliability demanded by today’s industrial user.

The Scepter continues to stand out as a truly rugged, industrial mobile computer that was born as an Android device, offers the largest display of any product in its class with a 5” capacitive touchscreen, and has a tactile keypad. Powered by Android 6 (Marshmallow), the Scepter features a Quad Core 1 GHz processor, 47-key backlit alphanumeric keypad, and IP-65 and 6-foot drop ratings. Its basic features also include an integrated flashlight, dual band 802.11 abgn WLAN radio, 24 watt-hour battery and an optional 5 MP camera.

“This continued evolution of the Scepter validates its own success, as well as the need for truly rugged Android mobile computers in the industrial marketplace”, says Mike Kearby, President of AML. “This is only the beginning of an ongoing introduction of Android-based mobile computing products that appeal to the user looking for durability and reliability, and that we are proud to say, are American-made.”

The Scepter Enterprise Mobile Computer is built for industrial use and is intended for applications in the warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing environments. Sample tasks include inventory counts, receiving, stock put-away, order picking, and work-in-process tracking.
