Veterans help us fulfill our mission to provide the best customer service in our industry.
LANHAM, Md. (PRWEB) June 28, 2018
The Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Veterans Services (DVS) announced that Thompson Creek Window Company earned the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) certification for its commitment to hiring military veterans.
Virginia Values Veterans (V3) is an innovative program administered by DVS that works with companies as well as state and local governmental agencies across the Commonwealth to promote the recruitment, hiring and retention of military veterans in the Virginia workforce. Since its inception in 2012, more than 32,000 veterans have been hired as a result of the efforts of the V3 Program and its partner employers.
Rick Wuest, CEO of Thompson Creek Window Company, said “Being a part of the Virginia Values Veterans program reinforces Thompson Creek’s commitment to those who have served our country. We are honored to be a part of the program because veterans help us fulfill our mission to provide the best customer service in our industry. We appreciate the experience, dedication and talent veterans bring to the company as Thompson Creek brand ambassadors,”
The military has been a part of the recruitment diversity strategy for Thompson Creek for many years. Earning this certification provides even more opportunities to hire talented veterans as Thompson Creek expands their service area.

About Virginia Values Veterans (V3)
The Commonwealth of Virginia has a unique opportunity to help Veterans gain employment. While Virginia ranks 12th among states in total population, it ranks 7th in total Veteran population and 4th in Veteran working-age population. While many employers are unaware of the value Veterans can bring to their workforce, thousands more are seeking to hire Veterans as a part of their workforce but simply don’t know how. The Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Program not only aims to educate and train companies as to why it is a sound business decision to recruit, hire, train, and retain Veterans, but also to help those committed companies meet their hiring goals.
