Established in 2011, the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award recognizes hospitality businesses who consistently provide superior service across the globe. According to TripAdvisor, only 10-percent of its listings are eligible to receive this honor. To qualify, a hospitality business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor rating of at least 4 out of 5 bubbles, have a minimum number of reviews, and have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. The travel review site determines recipients of this award through a proprietary algorithm that accounts for the quality, quantity, and how recent reviews are as well as how long the business has been on TripAdvisor.
