Company's new FracView® low-cost, high-resolution, OBM-compatible LWD Borehole Imager/Caliper/Drilling-Dynamics-Monitor to be Showcased

PetroMar will showcase its products and services at URTeC 2018
"We are confident that our unconventional E&P customers can use FracView data to increase efficiency and value for their shareholders." - Earle Drack, VP Business Development, PetroMar Technologies, Inc.

PetroMar Technologies, Inc., a provider of novel "service-company-agnostic" LWD technologies optimized for unconventional O&G applications, will be showcasing its new FracView® high-resolution LWD Borehole Imager/Caliper/Drilling-Dynamics-Monitor at the 2018 Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) to be held July 23-25 in Houston. PetroMar's founder and CEO, Marian Morys, will present a technical paper entitled "Advances in Borehole Imaging in Unconventional Reservoirs" describing the FracView technology, its applications, and results obtained while drilling with oil-based muds during commercial operations.

Based on advanced ultrasonic imaging technology developed by PetroMar, FracView was the industry's first commercially available logging-while-drilling solution for obtaining high-resolution borehole images and high-precision caliper images/measurements while drilling, even with oil-based muds. Such non-electrically-conductive muds are typical for unconventional resource development, but prior to FracView their use had rendered the earlier generation of electrical-resistivity-based LWD borehole imagers ineffective.

Earle Drack, VP of Business Development at PetroMar, commented, "FracView was designed to give unconventional E&P operators a low-cost, low-risk option for acquiring high-resolution borehole images, caliper, and dynamics data while drilling with any mud type. With such an option now available for any and every lateral drilled, we are confident that our unconventional E&P customers can use FracView data to increase efficiency and value for their shareholders."

In addition to the technical presentation of the paper, which was co-authored by PetroMar and borehole image interpretation specialists Task Fronterra Group, PetroMar will also be exhibiting their advanced LWD technologies, products, and services at booth #2362 in the Exhibition Hall. Offerings from PetroMar include:

  • FracView® LWD Borehole Imager/Caliper/Drilling-Dynamics-Monitor,
  • DrillView™ family of wide bandwidth, wide dynamic range Dynamics/WOB/TOB/BOB/Pressure solutions, configurable for at-bit or in-string, and
  • SpectraView™ LWD Spectral/Azimuthal Gamma Ray tool
