There's lots of Christmas apparel out there, but not much specifically for Christmas in July—so, we decided to make something special.
MINNEAPOLIS (PRWEB) July 05, 2018
Ragstock, the world's largest ugly Christmas sweater retailer, has created a new line of Australian-themed sweatshirts to celebrate Christmas in July.
The three designs feature a smiling reindeer whose head resembles Australia, a koala bear surfing in Sydney Harbour, and another 'highly koalified' koala bear sporting a Santa hat and suspiciously red eyes.
"We wanted the designs to be lighthearted," says Zach Nagle, eCommerce director at Ragstock. "Obviously Christmas in July isn't an official holiday, but that's what makes it fun. I think everyone could use another excuse to throw a party."
Although Christmas in July may not warrant extra vacation days for most people, it does result in an uptick of traffic on Ragstock.com, home of the internet's largest selection of vintage ugly Christmas sweaters. Based in Minneapolis, most of Ragstock's website traffic comes from the U.S., with Canada coming in second, the U.K. third, and Australia fourth. Last July, Ragstock noticed a big uptick in traffic from Down Under, making Australia its second largest source of traffic for the month.
Although Ragstock specializes in vintage ugly Christmas sweaters, they started brainstorming new designs for their Australian audience. "It's really flattering to have customers 9,000 miles away that are excited about your business," Nagle says. "There's lots of Christmas apparel out there, but not much specifically for Christmas in July—so, we decided to make something special."
