DENVER, July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hearth & Dram is notifying patrons that dined at its restaurant between May 2, 2017 and March 16, 2018 of an event that could potentially impact the security of patrons' payment card information.
On March 5, 2018, Hearth & Dram received a report from a third party that suggested there may be unauthorized access to payment card information used at Hearth & Dram between May 2, 2017 and March 16, 2018. Hearth & Dram immediately commenced an investigation of its payment card system with the assistance of a leading third-party forensic investigation firm.
As part of this investigation, Hearth & Dram determined malware was present that allowed unauthorized access to Hearth & Dram's payment card system. This unauthorized access was used to exploit Hearth & Dram's point of sale system and gain access to payment card information.
Hearth & Dram encourages patrons to remain vigilant by reviewing payment card activity for unauthorized activity, and to report any unauthorized activity immediately to the payment card issuer.
