Dean Strickland, AKA Roland Numbers, the bassist and singer for the Los Angeles based duo of musical brothers, Chemical Diary, has completed his new book “I Wish You Would Kill Yourself Like Your Brother or Like Kurt Cobain”: a riveting tale of how the author along with his guitarist brother, Doug, AKA Dudee, are making things happen in Hollywood, California by writing, recording and releasing music independently, appearing on TV and in film, and gracing the cover of a music magazine in May of 2017.

According to Strickland, “(I) was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi in in 1967. (I am) the next to the youngest of eight siblings. (I am) one of the three little boys, a term used by (my) family all throughout (my) formidable years. (I am) an Amateur Organization of Karate champion, circa 1989-91, from the Strickland Karate Academy of Everman, Texas, owned and operated by (my) mother, Bobbie Strickland. Also, (I am) a graduate of the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, from where (I) received journeyman's certificates by completing all the qualifications in the Voice Institute of Technology, Guitar Institute of Technology, and the Recording Artist Program. Additionally, (I am) known for (my) story as a hitchhiking musician that appeared on TV and radio and was written about in numerous newspapers and magazines throughout the United States and the World, circa 2005-2009. After all those years of traveling, (I) lived awhile in Bandera, Texas where (I) met up again with (my) brother, Doug, circa 2010-2014.”
