The Detroit Chapter of the Society for Information Display (SID) has announced its keynote speaker for the 25th Vehicle Displays & Interfaces Symposium and Expo. Kristin Kolodge, Executive Director, Driver Interaction & HMI at J.D. Power, will open the symposium with an insightful talk titled “Voice of the Customer: Displays as Trust Enabler” at SID Vehicle Displays & Interfaces Detroit September 25-26. The technical symposium and expo is the world’s most comprehensive event for the vehicle value chain on next-generation in-car displays, interfaces and systems shaping the autonomous driving experience in the trillion-dollar global vehicle marketplace.

As OEMs rapidly bring more advanced electronic vehicle displays and smartphone-like interfaces and systems to market, the consumer’s evolving perception towards displays becomes the critical factor in determining future technology and systems development. Kristin is responsible for developing the new human-machine interface (HMI) practice at J.D. Power, and monitoring customer insights, perceptions and behaviors, regarding interactions with the technology in their vehicles and around them.

Kristen’s keynote will explore why consumer “trust” in vehicle displays is so critical to the autonomous driving experience of today and tomorrow, how understanding “what if” and “what does it mean to me” can improve OEM product and system development, and how automated driving technology is becoming the new definition of consumer quality.
