The Urban Land Institute Welcomes World-Renowned Industry Leaders as Members of the Global Board of Directors and Governing Trustees
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) July 11, 2018 -- WASHINGTON (July 9, 2018) —The Urban Land Institute (ULI), a global, multidisciplinary real estate organization, added world-renowned industry leaders to its Global Board of Directors and Governing Trustees. ULI’s mission, advanced by more than 40,000 members, is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide.
Five real estate leaders have been added to the Global Board of Directors, serving terms that began July 1. ULI’s Global Board of Directors, which is the principal policy-making body of the Institute, provides strategic direction for the organization and has the responsibility for the oversight of all fiscal, management, and legal operations and activities. The Global Board recently approved ULI’s new Global Strategic Plan, a multi-year plan to strengthen member engagement and expand member impact in each region in which ULI has a presence -- the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. The plan, approved May 1, seeks to deliver greater member value through technology investments to improve member connections and involvement with ULI; strengthen and broaden ULI’s member networks; and encourage more philanthropic giving to expand ULI’s reach.
The new Global Board members are: ULI Foundation Chairman Douglas D. Abbey, Chairman, Swift Real Estate Partners, San Francisco; ULI Board Secretary Marty Burger, Chief Executive Officer, Silverstein Properties, New York City; and at-large members Thomas R.
