"the model is a game-changer because it will enable smart devices like your TVs and speakers to identify and interact with our faces"

Trueface, a global leader in face recognition and vision solutions, today announced its embedded face recognition SDK. Weighing in at less than 5 MB, the embedded SDK is designed to run in extremely constrained environments without sacrificing speed or performance. The SDK enables manufacturers, smart home companies and IoT device makers to add real-time face recognition to their products.
Trueface developed the first commercial smart doorbell with face recognition, Chui, in 2013. The team embedded face recognition technology locally which required no internet or permanent power connectivity to operate and identify individuals. That experience, says CEO Shaun Moore, “helped Trueface gain a strong advantage and lead the industry in embedded solutions. The model performs at the highest level, identifying faces in under 100 milliseconds and scoring 99.6% on the Labeled Faces in the Wild (LFW) dataset which is commensurate with face recognition models that are tens of times larger in size.”
“We’ve spent the last 5 years as a team developing face recognition solutions for a variety of clients and we have played a significant role in the growth of the facial recognition market. After Apple announced the iPhone X, demand skyrocketed for our solutions that run at the edge and require very little computational resources; we used our expertise to quickly enhance our solutions and meet demand” Shaun says.
Nezare Chafni, CTO, says, “the embedded model is a game-changer because it will enable smart devices such as TVs and speakers to identify and interact with our faces in ways never before possible.” This product enables manufactures and innovators to provide enhanced end-user experience by allowing users to simplify repetitive tasks like logging in and authenticating themselves.
Trueface has established themselves in the market for offering a self-hosted server and CCTV solutions for enterprise clients which are GDPR compliant. The embedded SDK expands access of face recognition technology to smart-device makers of all kinds.
