ActiveAether CEO & Co-founder, Robert MacInnis, Ph.D., will be presenting on the role of cryptocurrency in realizing global, distributed computing infrastructure at Blockchain World Conference in Atlantic City July 11-13th.

The CEO & Co-founder of ActiveAether, the fog computing platform that provides on-demand, geographically optimal processing power and automatic deployment for software publishers, will be speaking at Blockchain World Conference in Atlantic City. Dr. MacInnis will be delivering a presentation titled “Unleashing the Beast: Realizing the Dream of a Global, Distributed Computing Infrastructure, Thanks to Crypto” on Friday, July 13th at 3:15pm EST on the event’s main stage, which is being hailed as the “largest crypto event in history” by organizers and attendees.

A pioneer in fog computing and expert in distributed systems, Dr. MacInnis is currently rolling out the patented ActiveAether fog computing platform. Powered by the FogCoin cryptocurrency, ActiveAether provides affordable, low-latency compute on demand by enabling any computer owner to rent out processing power to ActiveAether’s global marketplace. Dr. MacInnis’s presentation will highlight cryptocurrency’s role in enabling a truly decentralized, global market for computing power.

“Now that anyone can get paid for their spare computing time, we have solved the incentivization problem that has been the historic barrier to large-scale, multi-party distributed computing platforms. We aim to be bigger, faster, cheaper, and easier to use than traditional cloud platforms like Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure– providing lower barriers to use, an easy income opportunity, and a more resilient computing infrastructure for all people, worldwide. Cryptocurrency is the catalyst that enables a global decentralized computing platform, based upon a market for computing power,” said Dr. MacInnis, ”We patented the ActiveAether technology that made the geeky stuff possible years ago, but there has never been an efficient and effective means of getting Host Providers paid – until now.”

“Thanks to the integration of FogCoin, a blockchain-based cryptocurrency,” Dr. MacInnis said,” a Software Publisher in NYC can rent compute from an idle office computer in India just as seamlessly as from the server room next door. FogCoin provides the governance and means of payment that ActiveAether needs to orchestrate the deployment of software services for Software Publishers, pairing them with optimal Host Providers that meet their criteria for performance, latency, security, and of course, cost.”

Blockchain World Conference’s goal is to expand the reach and breadth of blockchain technology in order to achieve long term growth and sustainable expansion of the industry. According to the event website, “The Blockchain World Conference team has scoured the globe to put together what is by far the most compelling lineup of blockchain and crypto experts.” Over 8,000 attendees are expected at the Atlantic City event with another 25,000+ expected to tune in via livestream.

Blockchain World Conference will be held July 11th-13th at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. For more information, visit
