Best selling author Wes Moore and Professor of Higher Education & Sociology at Temple University, Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab will speak to over 1,000 K-12 and higher education professionals at HSI 2018.

Sara Goldrick-Rab, a professor at Temple University, has been named this year's winner of the University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award in Education. Dr. Goldrick-Rab's mission is to identify novel approaches to making higher education accessible and affordable. She is recognized as one of the architects of President Obama's free college proposal, America's College Promise, and has helped craft state and federal legislation to lower the price of college across the country. Her latest book is Paying the Price: College Costs, Financial Aid, and the Betrayal of the American Dream. She is ranked 7th in the nation among education scholars according to Education Week, and in April 2018 the Carnegie Corporation awarded her the Carnegie Fellowship.
Moore will speak at 4:30 p.m. PST on July 16 in Desert Ballroom 7/8. Dr. Goldrick-Rab will speak at 9:00 a.m. PST on July 18 in Desert Ballroom 7/8.
