DocumentLOK™ Workflow Functionality Unveiled at 2018 PSUG Conference
CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (PRWEB) July 17, 2018 -- Bull Valley Software, a leading developer of document management solutions (DMS) in the K-12 education vertical, is unveiling its new Workflow module at the 2018 PowerSchool User Group (PSUG) Conference in Las Vegas this week. The Workflow module, offered as a part of BVS’ flagship product, DocumentLOK™, promises to automate standard processes, increase productivity, boost regulatory compliance, ensure adherence to district policies, and more.
The complete module will be released in phases to allow users to take advantage of basic and intermediate features immediately, with more advanced functionality being released later. The initial release allows users to design workflow processes based upon defined business rules via an easy-to-use interface, with no coding knowledge required. Users can instantly see those processes in which they are included as well as the current stage of each workflow – automatically filtered to show only those workflows in which the user is included or has been given the security permissions to access. Workflows can require the inclusion (or exclusion) of specific documents, and the system can notify staff members if needed documents are absent, or if prohibited documents are present. Workflow processes can also define the departments or specific people to whom the documents must be routed (and in what order), as well as approvals or sign-offs by specific staff members that may be needed along the way. Additional features also include the prioritization of workflow processes, and the ability to generate pre-defined or ad hoc reports via Microsoft® Excel or reporting software such as Crystal Reports.
More advanced features to be added in the weeks to come will include the ability to create multi-threaded workflows, the inclusion of triggers and/or dependencies, and the inclusion of Boolean “if/then” logic within processes. Thanks to DocumentLOK’s integration and embedment within PowerSchool, the data required for these triggers, dependencies, or Boolean logic decisions can be pulled from PowerSchool or validated against data contained in the district’s PowerSchool system.
According to Paul Fotis, Vice President of Business Development & VAR Channel Manager for Bull Valley Software, “Our clients and prospects have consistently told us that the adherence to district policies has always been a top priority, yet unfortunately at the same time, a top problem for them. One of the simplest examples, and one of the most common problems is the requirement that a very specific set of documents must be included in every student’s cumulative file as mandated by the state – yet audits of the files frequently reveal that one or more of those required documents are often missing.” He adds, “Right out of the gate, this module will all but eliminate that headache from an administrator’s plate.”
Fotis concludes, “As has always been Bull Valley’s policy, this new module will be provided to all current users as a no-cost update.”
