SLCC’s Grand Theatre Features ‘The Marvelous Wonderettes’
SALT LAKE CITY (PRWEB) July 30, 2018 -- The Grand Theatre, sponsored by Salt Lake Community College, is proud to present “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” Aug. 16 to Sept. 8.
As part of the Backstage at the Grand Series, “The Marvelous Wonderettes” is under the direction of Jim Christian, with music direction by Ken Plain. Performances will take place Wednesday – Saturday at 7:30 p.m., with a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at 801-957-3322 or online at http://www.GrandTheatreCompany.com. As always, junior high and high school students and teachers receive one free ticket with their school ID.
Written and created by Roger Bean, this smash hit off-Broadway musical kicks off the Grand Theatre’s 28th season. Tap your toes from start to finish with this musical trip down memory lane as we follow four girls from the 1958 Springfield High School prom to their 10-year reunion. With more than 20 chart-topping hits, this female quartet serenades us through their lives and loves. Packed with charm and sweetness, you’ll be smiling from ear to ear as the Wonderettes take you on their journey.
The Grand Theatre is a 1,100-seat venue located at Salt Lake Community College’s historic South City Campus, home of the innovative and state-of-the-industry Center for Arts and Media at 1575 South State Street in Salt Lake City. The theatre dates back to the 1930s and retains its Depression-era charm while incorporating the latest technology in lighting and sound. Every season the Grand is host to many concerts and award-winning theatre and dance productions that attract arts enthusiasts from all along the Wasatch Front. The venue also serves as an official screening venue for the annual Sundance Film Festival.
