Lynda Bahr Makes the Cover of MJSA Journal
SAN GREGORIO, Calif. (PRWEB) July 17, 2018 -- California-based jewelry designer, Lynda Bahr’s bands are featured on the cover of the MJSA Journal, July 2018 issue as well as a two-page layout of them for the article, “On Red Alert”. This article is about designers who work with red gold, which Lynda does. These bands are iconic pieces in her collection of handmade jewelry.
Lynda who has been designing jewelry for the past twenty-five years, creates mosaic-like jewelry which is a surprisingly workable contradiction of elements and materials. You can see the influence of her experience as an interior architect in her jewelry as well as the arts of Klimt, Frank Lloyd Wright, medieval manuscripts, or the Art Nouveau movement. Her work honors nature and engineering at the same time. Pattern and empty space. Intricate and bold. Simple and complex. Sophisticated and fun. Ancient and contemporary.
Lynda works in gold, silver, gemstones and diamonds while incorporating Mokume Gane she personally produces in her studio and textured patterns which are roller printed.
When asked about her reaction to the coverage she stated, “I was deeply honored and extremely excited to have my work featured on such a large scale in this major industry periodical. I was also grateful to Chris Nyce, my photographer who is a truly gifted artist. It was beyond belief. MJSA and Shawna Kulpa did such a beautiful job.”
Lynda Bahr will be showing her jewelry at the San Francisco American Craft Council show which is open to the public from 8/3 to 8/5, booth #719
