The Beach Boys Will Headline an Exciting Roster of Musical Entertainment at LA Fleet Week® 2018 Presented by Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime Video
SAN PEDRO, Calif. (PRWEB) July 20, 2018 -- The LA Fleet Week® Foundation today announced that The Beach Boys will headline the Saturday night (Sept. 1) concert during LA Fleet Week® 2018 presented by Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime Video.
The quintessential Southern California band leads an exciting line-up of music acts performing over the multi-day event, Aug. 31-Sept. 3. Opening with Steve Morris, The Beach Boys will perform on the Delta Air Lines main stage on Saturday night, followed by a spectacular laser light show set against the backdrop of the iconic Battleship IOWA. Once again, the Annenberg Foundation presents the free Saturday evening concert. Tickets are required and will be distributed electronically during the weeks leading up to Labor Day weekend. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate LA Fleet Week and treat our military guests and the visiting public to a signature Southern California experience then to have The Beach Boys play on the LA Waterfront on Labor Day weekend,” said Jonathan Williams, president of the LA Fleet Week Foundation. “Thanks in large part to the Annenberg Foundation and other LA Fleet Week sponsors, we’ve signed a number of other terrific acts this year, adding to a great roster of LA Fleet Week entertainment that the whole family can enjoy.”
“We are excited to visit the Port of Los Angeles, play for the men and women of our United States Sea Services and be a part of LA Fleet Week 2018,” added co-founder and chief lyricist of The Beach Boys, Mike Love. “We are looking forward to returning to Southern California for concerts at Fleet Week, the LA County Fair and other popular venues!”
The Beach Boys are led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, who along with Jeffrey Foskett, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill, Keith Hubacher, Scott Totten and Christian Love continue the legacy of America’s iconic band. For this special LA Fleet Week performance, honorary Beach Boy John Stamos will join the band on drums.
With the Battleship IOWA as the backdrop, the evening entertainment during LA Fleet Week will play on the Delta Air Lines main stage, thanks to their partnership with the Bob Hope USO, the local nonprofit organization charged with providing support to our service members while they are in port for LA Fleet Week.
Great Music All Weekend!
On Friday afternoon (Aug. 31), American Idol finalist Jo Kross will perform, followed by The Voice show runner-up Michaela Paige. Sunday evening (Sept. 2) entertainment will feature popular cover bands Rich Girl and Soul Sacrifice (playing music from Hall & Oats and Santana, respectively), followed by an encore laser show. On Labor Day afternoon (Sept. 3), Faultlines featuring The Voice winner Ashley Morgan will perform, followed by award-winning country music artist Brent Payne. Other acts include San Pedro favorites 110- South and a reunion of The Wingtips. The USO Show Troupe will also join the Labor Day music lineup.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Premiere
As the timing of this Labor Day weekend event coincides with the launch of the much-anticipated CIA thriller, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Prime Video will host the new series’ North American premiere event with talent and creators in attendance on Friday evening, Aug. 31, the opening night of LA Fleet Week’s Labor Day Weekend public event. The LA Fleet Week Foundation will distribute a limited number of tickets to the August 31 premiere of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and The Beach Boys performance on September 1.
