Harris Teeter, Washington Nationals Team Up to Fight Hunger
MATTHEWS, N.C. (PRWEB) July 23, 2018 -- In partnership with the Washington Nationals, local Harris Teeter stores are hosting a food drive from July 23 to Aug. 5 in support of its local Feeding America food bank partners, Capital Area Food Bank and Loudoun Hunger Relief.
In May, Harris Teeter donated over $250,000 to its various food bank partners and is hosting this food drive to continue its efforts to raise awareness to the problems of hunger and food insecurity.
Food donations will be accepted in the collection bins at participating Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. stores.
In addition to donating food at local Harris Teeter stores, Nationals fans may bring non-perishable food items to Nationals Park on Saturday, Aug. 4 and Sunday, Aug. 5 when the Nationals face the Cincinnati Reds.
Volunteers will collect donations outside the Center Field Gate from the time gates open through the second inning. Donations made at Nationals Park will benefit Capital Area Food Bank.
Fans who donate four or more non-perishable food items at the ballpark will receive two tickets to a future game, while supplies last. Additionally, on Sunday, Aug. 5, the first 500 fans who bring four or more Harris Teeter brand canned goods will receive $5 Nats Bucks.
Please join Harris Teeter and the Nationals in the fight against hunger in your community.
