Greenberg Traurig Adds Skilled Litigator Kevin W. Rethore to Its Philadelphia Roster
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) October 10, 2018 -- The Philadelphia office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP continues to expand responsively to business needs with the addition of its latest hire, Kevin W. Rethore. He joins the firm’s Private Wealth Services and Litigation practices as a shareholder and will spearhead trust and estates litigation efforts for the Philadelphia office.
“Kevin’s wide-ranging litigation experience, incredible knowledge of fiduciary laws, and commitment to pro bono service make him an exciting hire for us,” said Curtis B. Toll, managing shareholder of the Philadelphia office. “Kevin’s practice allows us to broaden the scope of legal services within the office and assist our clients in a fresh way by offering top-tier quality to the many second- and third-generation family businesses, historic foundations, charities, nonprofits, and academic institutions in this region.”
Rethore has a career that includes steering complex litigation and appeals on a range of high exposure matters across the country, as well as a consistent track record of working with clients to develop practices and procedures to avoid litigation in the first place. His commitment to mentorship and pro bono engagement history is equally compelling, ranging from teaching law students at the Zambian Institute for Advanced Legal Education in Lusaka, Zambia, to presenting at St. Joseph’s University’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans to working with numerous conservation groups across the Northeast and Mountain West regions.
“It’s no secret that this market has seen a resurgence in recent years, particularly in Philadelphia’s ability to attract and retain talented and creative people with interesting business ideas,” Rethore said. “I was drawn to Greenberg Traurig because the firm recognizes that attendant with growth comes a broadening ascendance of opportunities. The deepening bench strength in talent, both in the office here and offices across the country, the culture, and the vision of this firm presents an exciting platform that will undoubtedly benefit my clients.”
A graduate of Boston College and Penn State Dickinson School of Law, the New England native started his legal career as an associate in 12-attorney Berks County firm. He went on to join firms in Philadelphia, working his way up to partner at the Philadelphia office of DLA Piper LLP, where his roles included serving as the office’s Litigation Training Partner.
“We are thrilled to have Kevin join our team in Philadelphia and help us deepen our footprint there as well as support our work in other markets,” said Diana S.C. Zeydel, Global Chair of the Private Wealth Services Practice. “He is a strong cultural fit and has the right sensibilities, for Philadelphia and for our group, sharing our commitment to delivering quality and value for clients, across sectors.”
Beyond his various pro bono activities, Rethore also serves on the advisory boards of Penn State Law School and DVSport Inc., a cutting-edge tech company that delivers digital video acquisition, analysis, and play-back software products for professional and amateur sports markets.
